Accumulator Insurance

A promotional offer where, if one leg of an accumulator bet fails, the bettor gets their stake refunded as a free bet.

Action (Casino term)

The activity or total money wagered at a casino. Also, a dealer’s prompt to indicate it’s a player’s turn to make a move.

Action (Sports betting term)

A baseball bet placed without naming a specific pitcher. Also describes the volume of bets placed on a particular event.

Advance-Deposit Wagering (ADW)

A system where users deposit money into their betting account in advance and use those funds to place bets online.

Against the Spread (ATS)

A way to evaluate an event’s outcome by factoring in the point spread. Also refers to choosing to take points instead of betting with or against the spread.

Aggregate Limit

The maximum amount a casino will pay out from a single game or hand.

All-In

When a player bets all their remaining chips in a single wager.

Alphabet bet

A term for a bet involving six selections, comprising 26 total wagers: one yankee (11 bets), two patents (14 bets), and one six-fold accumulator (1 bet).

Arbitrage

Exploiting differences in odds to bet on all sides of an event, ensuring a profit regardless of the outcome.

Arbitrage betting

A strategy of placing bets on every possible outcome of an event to secure a guaranteed profit.

Asian Handicap

A betting system in soccer where teams are given goal advantages or deficits (e.g., +0.5 or -1) to balance odds, reducing the chance of a push.
